Meet the Current Board of Education

Please note that background information was provided by the Trustees when running for their current term and has not been independently verified.

PRESIDENT

Elizabeth O'Brien, elected in 2014, re-elected in 2016 & 2019, current term expires June 30, 2022

Background: Elizabeth O'Brien teaches music in Long Beach schools. She holds a bachelor's degree in music from Ithaca College and a master's degree in education from Hofstra University. She serves in the Nassau Music Educators Association and Music Educators National Conference. Her two children are Babylon graduates.

VICE PRESIDENT 

Carol Dell'Erba, elected in 2014, re-elected in 2017 & 2020 - current term expires June 30, 2023

Background: Carol Dell' Erba launched the district’s Curriculum Committee in 2014, leading to district-wide curricular and extracurricular enhancements. Some of these include robotics, mock trial, broadcast club, and the debate team, Project Lead the Way, expanded Advanced Placement course offerings, and opportunities for more teaching training. She has been an English teacher with the Jericho School District for over 20 years and holds a master’s degree in Education from Dowling College. She is a lifelong resident of Babylon Village and a graduate of Babylon Schools. Her two children are also Babylon graduates.

TRUSTEES  

Dominick Montalto, elected in 2011, re-elected in 2014, 2017 & 2020, current term expires June 30, 2023

Background: Nick Montalto has served as vice president of the board and for eight years as chair of the Technology Committee. He is currently the chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee. While chair of the Technology Committee, Montalto spearheaded the one-to-one computing initiative, providing laptops for all students. Montalto is retired from the New York City Fire Department. A resident of Babylon Village for over 20 years, his daughter graduated from Babylon High School in 2019 and his son will graduate in 2022.

Linda Jurs, elected in 2014, re-elected in 2017 & 2020, current term expires June 30, 2023

Background: A lead specialist for market intelligence for the accounting firm KPMG, Jurs holds an MBA in marketing from Hofstra University. She is a volunteer for KPMG’s Family for Literary Program, which provides books to children in the New York City public school system. She has served as a coach and in leadership positions for several Babylon youth sports clubs. A resident of Babylon Village since 1995, she has two children who are Babylon graduates. 

Donna Noesi, elected in 2019, current term expires June 30, 2022

Background: In 2019, Donna Noesi ran unopposed and there was no bio to be obtained. 

Ann Donaldson, elected in 2012, re-elected in 2015 and 2018, current term expires June 30, 2021 and she is not seeking re-election

Background: Ann Donaldson is a social studies teacher with the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District, and has been on the board of education since 2012. She has a bachelor's in education from the University of Buffalo and a master's in liberal arts from Stony Brook University. Donaldson has been a board member of the Babylon Youth Wrestling program since 2005 and a religion teacher at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church since 2005. She has lived in the district 20 years; one child graduated from district schools and two younger ones are enrolled.

Tricia Pane, elected in 2015, re-elected in 2018, current term expires June 30, 2021 and she is not seeking re-election

Background: Tricia Pane is a chemistry teacher at Bethpage High School and spent 10 years as an administrator focusing on early intervention programs for the Medical and Health Research Association. She has a bachelor's degree in biology from Wake Forest University and a master's degree in public administration from Baruch College School of Public Affairs. From 2010 to 2014, she was on the board of directors - two years as president - for Babylon Little League. She has been a lector at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church for 10 years. Pane has been a district resident for over 15 years. She has two children who are Babylon graduates.
